Do I have to manually click the remote to change the color on the GFWMICBCBM4000?

Yes, the light function is a manual click from the attached USB remote as pictured below. This must be clicked each time in order to change the color.

The built-in LED Indicator light colors are red, blue, & violet. This does also include brightness control.
